This camp is a 5 day journey, Monday through Friday, in which children ages 7 to 17 will learn how to catch, lead, tie, saddle, and ride their horse. Students will be assigned to a horse according to their skill level. Participants will receive a “fill in the blank” work sheet each day as we go through and explain the different aspects of horsemanship. Your child will learn responsibility and leadership through working with horses in a group environment. A daily routine will involve warming up their horse before riding lessons; cooling them down after the ride; cleaning up after them and turning them out to pasture. They will learn how each horse has his own personality and how we need to be good herd leaders so that the horse understands and respects us. Your child will learn when, where, and how to apply the appropriate amount of pressure to get the horse to do a specific command. During the last day of camp parents are encourage to come watch their child demonstrate the skills that they have learned.

Please make sure your child brings water, a lunch (unless other arrangements have been made) a hat, and sunscreen. Helmets will be provided by us.
